Bike ride to Richmond, hair off and Hadrian's Wall train tickets booked!

Spent Saturday afternoon on epic bike ride following the Thames (and the start of the Thames Barrier ride) out to Kingston on Thames and back through Richmond Park where we saw a huge herd of deer.

Richmond Park (largest in London) is much much bigger than I had imagined. Its vast and views back to the city through the bracken are amazing. It was a 4 hour trek with only short stops for icecreams and beer so good training for our four day epic in 10 days time.

Sunday I got my hair chopped (so can wear a helmet - its all part of the plan) and we did some internet shopping for bike stuff including panniers and a rack for Justin.

Today I booked train tickets for each end of the chunk of Hadrian's wall that we're going to attempt (Newcastle to Carlisle). Justin mentioned that the hills look a bit steep. Oh well, all part of the challenge, as is having to do 30 km a day three days in a row.

We're going to forgo the bike maintanence course before we go on the next adventure, but still hope to be enrolled this summer.

I love it when a good plan all falls into place!
