Six go mad on the Isle of Wight

While mainland England was suffering from torrential downpours, all was sunny on the Isle of Wight. We all skipped out of work early and headed down on the trains to Sandown, which is almost the end of the Island 'Tube'. We stayed at the Chad Hill Hotel which was run by a lovely landlady, pity about the decor though, especially Stace and Richard's room which was covered in about four types of lace.

Saturday was a full day of cycling (and sitting outside a pub for two hours in the middle of the day) from Sandown to Niton and back inland. Didn't get lost too many times...

As the bartender at the end of Shanklin beach said, it was a bit bumpy!

Good news though, we easily clocked 30 miles, so if we didn't stop for the 2 hour lunch next time, 40 miles in a day would still be pretty comfortable. And my bike (above) got to see the sea!
